The scope of our project was a yard extension across an Arroyo into the undeveloped portion of our two acre lot. This involved grading of a slope, clearing vegetation from the Arroyo, shaping it, erosion control, additional paver path, and laying down of weed barrier and landscaping rock in the newly created flat area of about 5000 square feet.
Zebrascapes was one of three quotes and they were competitive. The sales person Ralphael was very attentive to our desired outcome and offered several helpful suggestions. In fact, I would say they were the easiest of the three bidders to communicate with.
Once the deposit was made work began in about 10 days. They assigned a lead foreman Manny Jr, and two workers, Rosolio and Domingo. The workers were friendly and courteous starting work each day around 8 AM and staying basically until sunset.
Additionally, Raphael came by frequently to check on the progress. He offered me additional work at what they called a continuation rate. Ostensibly a slight discount since men and equipment were already on site. Quite honestly, I did not think that the continuation rate was that much different than the normal rate. That being said, I felt that it was still a competitive price for the work being done.
The material delivery trucks (3rd party) did some damage climbing the gravel road the leads to the other side of the property. I pointed this out to Ralphael and after the last delivery the Zebrascapes crew repaired the damage and still finished the project on time.
Overall, we are very pleased with the outcome of the project. The paver work is especially good. The additional suggestions were helpful to tie everything together we look forward to the use of the new and expanded yard. We try and do a large project every year and in 2026 Zebrascapes will definitely be one of the invited bidders.
